Ohana = Hawaiian for 'family'
I set out to open this entry with something like, "there's not much going on here lately" but then, going through my pictures, I realized that's just not true. Either that or I just take a lot of pictures (and I think you know by now that that's the case). Regardless, whether interesting or not, here is an update.
Jon's work is continuing to plug along. It sounds like the algae growth and harvesting is going well, although they are all working six days a week indefinitely. He enjoys the night crew which consists of him and two of his buddies. I think that helps him cope with the long hours. Also, having Frank (the Chihuahua) there is sure to be a spirit lifter ;)
E and I are so blessed to be enjoying the good life - hanging out with our friends, going to bible study and Christmas craft fairs, playing outside and lately, doing crafts. Of course, we miss Jon a lot and wish he had more time off. But we are trusting the Lord that this is temporary and coping as best we can.
Crafting.
E was such a good sport - look at him there, playing games on his iPhone.... just kidding, it's Daddy's - he was watching puppy videos on Youtube to keep him occupied ;)
See my little baby belly??
We've also been walking over to get a closer look at the cruise ships when they're leaving the bay. Everett likes the opportunity to practice pointing.
We all got to spend some time together the other night when we had our friends the Garners over for dinner. We always have a good time with them. Here is Everett getting a hug (or unintentional headlock ;) from his friend Will. They're such buddies these days. It's fun to see.
Everett is growing up before our very eyes. He now has quite the repertoire of words and phrases he uses. At the top of the list of most common is still "uh-oh" (naturally), followed closely by "thank you", "more please", "all done", and "bye-bye". He can now point out his eyes, nose, mouth and belly ("bayyy"). He points at everything he finds interesting which is, well, everything. He also still loves dogs and takes every opportunity to say his other favorite word - "puppy". One evening recently, the three of us went to get some ice cream and a stray cat wandered across the path. Everett got super excited and started gleefully chasing after it pointing and shouting "PUPPY!!". It might have been the cutest thing I've ever seen.
Here he is doing some of his best work - eating.
At Subway eating like a big boy
Daddy bought him some lego's recently because he's outgrowing all of his old baby toys but so far all he's really interested in is the bucket they came in.....
....and the little lego man. He could care less about the actual lego's - well, other than to dump them everywhere and then wade through them.
We have been trying to explain to him that mommy's going to have a baby. He doesn't understand, although he has seemed to notice that something is different about my belly.
Speaking of, here are a couple shots of the progress. I am now in my 2nd trimester and feeling much better. Woohoo!!
10 weeks
14 weeks
As you can see, I'm showing a lot earlier this time around than last. One week from tomorrow we have an ultrasound to find out the baby's gender! Can't believe it's going by this fast.
Other than that, we are just getting ready for our trip to Oahu. We leave tomorrow and are looking forward to spending four whole days together for Thanksgiving. So much to thank Jesus for!
Hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving. We are thankful for you in our lives!

You look great Emily! I love all the pics of Everett, he's getting so big!
