The day before Halloween we went to the National Tropical Botanical Garden for an event they were having called the Haunted Garden & Monster Shindig. It was Jon's day off and this garden had been on our list of things to see in Kaua'i. Admission into the park happened to be free for this particular event so we were really excited. The Halloween part of it wasn't that impressive but the garden itself was spectacular!
Here are some pictures from the initial tram ride into the park (with an equally spectacular view of E's golden curls!).
Once we got there, E had a great time running around in between the themed stations. All the kids came in their costumes so we got to test his out. Personally, I think the hair squiggle drawn on his forehead the next day really made the costume ;)
We got to see the famous tree from Jurassic Park where they filmed the scene where they find the giant dinosaur eggs. This tree's roots are giant! .....did I tell you Jurassic Park was filmed on Kaua'i?

The garden was so beautiful. My favorite part was the little river flowing through this tropical valley.
