When actual Christmas rolled around, we had a nice quiet morning, just the three of us (well, maybe "quiet" is not the right word ;).
Jon had Christmas Eve off which was unexpected, so we got to go to church together that night and hang out afterwards. It was a wonderful couple of days to spend together as a family.
Later Christmas night, we had a couple of friends from Jon's work over for dinner. Everett loved the time with the dudes.
Last night for New Year's Eve, we went down to Po'ipu Beach Park for live music, food and fireworks. Apparently, New Year's Eve is a bigger deal here than the 4th of July when it comes to fireworks. I should have known, judging by the number of cartloads of fireworks I saw rolling out of Costco earlier in the day. People were shooting them off everywhere last night!
Anyways, we met up with some friends for the big event and it was awesome! The stage was set up right on the beach and we were there in time to see the sunset.
E-Man was delighted to reunite with his friends after a couple weeks apart.
And so was I :-)
E made a valiant effort, but unfortunately, we didn't quite make it until the fireworks show. All of the kids started breaking down one by one and we called it a night by about 8:30. Maybe next year :)
We are excited to start the new year. Can't wait to see what lessons and adventures God has planned for us next.
Again, wishing you a happy, truly happy, joyful and free New Year*
