We have spent the past week or so enjoying our baby boy before he has a baby girl to share our time with. We are thankful to have had this special bonding time. We've been having lots of fun!
Saturday we took E to the zoo and it was a much more exciting experience than the last time we took him when he was only 13 months old. He is learning about animals from one of his favorite books he reads every day so it was fun to see him call some of the animals by name.
The Polar Bears (well, the statues anyways - didn't really care about the real thing ;) ) were his favorite.
He was so excited to give this baby bear a hug.... until he noticed the bigger version to the right. Then he really wanted to give that one a hug too....
.....but it didn't work out so well. Hahaha! Jon and I got a good laugh out of that!
The petting zoo was another big hit. He loved feeding the goats.
We've also spent some time at the pool and hot tub. He is definitely a water baby.
Everett's been getting up earlier and earlier these days and he is ready to go no matter how early in the morning.
We've been walking to the park a lot. By the time we get there I'm usually pretty tired but it's so fun watching him bond with his daddy. Here he is pushing Jon on the tire swing.
Playing a little soccer.
We also met up with some friends one morning for a play date. The boys enjoyed running around together while us girls had fun catching up.
Jon and Tamayo stopped by the park on their lunch break and played frisbee with the boys.
E stopped to pick some flowers.
And then his buddy Camilo joined him. You can see Uncle Tamayo on the left waiting with the frisbee for the flower break!
This one gave me such pride but also kind of broke my heart! I have a messenger style diaper bag that I wear over one shoulder so E-Man decided he wanted to wear his lunch box like Momma. It was so cute but it also made me flash forward to his first day of kindergarten - I'm going to be heartbroken!!
When we're not playing, I've been resting as much as possible. So tired these days! Fortunately, E is getting the hang of his toddler bed at nap time so I've been able to sleep then. Jon's been really helpful watching him in the mornings while he's getting ready or when he gets home from work if I'm tired. His hours have been so wonderful since we've been back in San Diego. It's been such a blessing.
Also, Aunt Charlotte is arriving in town tomorrow and we are so excited!! She will be a big help and it will be so fun having her nearby. It was such an awesome surprise when she got a travel nursing position in San Diego with the perfect timing! She will be here for at least three months :)
So much to look forward to. Hoping Baby Girl Sheeder comes soon! We will keep you posted!

Cute zoo pics!
